Smart People magazine – bringing knowledge to life!

Smart People magazine turns corporate knowledge management inside out, brings the power of knowledge work to the mainstream and applies it to living, learning, choosing, creating and working. Smart People magazine tells you the who, what, why, when and where – and, most importantly, the how of knowledge work.

The editorial mission of Smart People magazine follows the Eight Norms of Net Geners as described by Don Tapscot. We include Digital Pioneers and Catching Up Digitals. Our advisory Board of Directors is being carefully and methodically constructed to assure broad representation of the personal and professional interests of our audience, ranging from experts to ordinary smart people.

Smart People magazine is available in 3 formats – HTML, PDF reader, and flip reader (forthcoming). HTML to boost the interactivity with our readers (rating, comments) and to provide articles for public access, PDF for magazine style, convenient download and print to read the issues in quieter moments, flip reader …

The entire first issue of Smart People magazine is indefinitely free (download), and some lead stories in subsequent magazines are unlocked for public access. The remainder is open to subscribers only. Currently a one year subscription (10 issues) is $25 USD but only for a limited time (regular: $50 USD). Smart People magazine PDF back issues are available for $7.50 USD per issue.

As complement Smart People magazine is providing webinars and radioshows (forthcoming), a bookshelf (google), an interactive document platform (scribd), and social bookmarks (delicious). Webinars and radioshows are led with popular and ordinary smart people, on Smart People magazine’s google bookshelf and scribd document platform relevant literature is stored (Make book suggestions! | Add documents!). Further, the magazine’s free articles are available for download in PDF magazine style on scribd. Interesting links are saved on Smart People magazine’s delicious account (Contribute!/Add us to your network!).

Authors who want to submit an article for publication in Smart People magazine should follow the writer guidelines. They are not intended to restrict anyone’s personal writing style but are necessary to maintain a consistent style for the magazine itself. Exceptions may be made but only in advance.

  • Learning – Continuous and right-time learning replaces once-in-awhile teaching and uses Internet search and networking to turn smart people into smarter people.
  • Choosing – Smart people have the power of choice and they are making their voices heard in matters big and small. This section tells who, what, where, why and how.
  • Working – Knowledge management was born at work, but knowledge work comes from the cradle of human knowledge – people. This is where the ‘knowledge thing’ really gets turned inside out.
  • Creating – Web 2.0 is changing the culture of individuals, groups and organizations, relocating the creative center and exploding the process of innovation.
  • K-Factor – Jerry Ash, knowledge management expert turned smart people champion, uses lessons learned and lessons learning to bring together two great forces – social networking and knowledge work
